Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 20, BYD made a significant stride in its European expansion by launching two new models in Greece. This launch event marks BYD's official entry into the Greek passenger car market, symbolizing a new chapter in BYD's European green journey.

The launch was a collaborative effort between BYD and its Greek dealer, Sfakianakis Group, held at the Zappeion Hall in Athens—a venue rich in symbolism and historical significance. The first two BYD models to be distributed in Greece by Sfakianakis Group are the BYD ATTO 3 SUV and the BYD SEAL sedan, followed by the BYD DOLPHIN hatchback and the BYD SEAL U SUV, which will be available in both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) variants.

Michael Shu, Managing Director of BYD Europe, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Sfakianakis Group, stating, "We welcome the Sfakianakis Group as a key member of BYD's global strategic layout. We are confident that our shared commitment to sustainable electrification will power Greece's transition to green mobility. Together, we will focus on customer-centric solutions, aiming to deliver satisfying sales experiences and comprehensive, high-quality after-sales services."

Founded in 1958, Sfakianakis Group is among Greece's leading commercial entities, employing over 1,500 staff across 14 European countries. With BYD's first store already open in Athens and a second store slated to begin operations in early April, Greek consumers can experience and order BYD products firsthand.

Since September 2022, BYD has actively pursued its European market strategy, partnering with local allies to introduce a range of new energy vehicle models across 20 European countries, including Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Hungary. This expansion has led to the establishment of over 250 stores across the continent, demonstrating BYD's commitment to promoting sustainable mobility worldwide.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
