According to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, BYD has been approved to relocate its Shenzhen new energy passenger vehicle factory to No. 1888 Honghai Avenue, Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The company will no longer produce passenger vehicle products in Pingshan New Area, Shenzhen. Currently, BYD's headquarters is located at No. 3001 Hengping Road, which means that the Pingshan factory area will be relocated to the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone. Although the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has made the announcement, BYD has not explained it yet. However, based on the company's previous investment layout in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, it is speculated that its production capacity will be significantly increased after the relocation of the factory area. No. 3001 Hengping Road will retain key functions such as the global headquarters and research and development center. According to the map, the new factory area is only 80 kilometers away from the Shenzhen headquarters, with a one-hour drive. Although the Shenshan Cooperation Zone is still in the development stage, BYD will be able to access more land resources for development.
