Farizon Auto, Chaoyang city, Windey ally on building methanol-hydrogen ecosystem

On March 20th, Geely's Farizon Auto signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Municipal Government of Chaoyang city, Liaoning province, and Windey Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd..

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 20th, Geely's Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group (“Farizon Auto”) signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Municipal Government of Chaoyang city, Liaoning province, and Windey Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd. (“Windey”), according to a post on Farizon Auto's WeChat account.

While signing the agreement, all parties conducted a discussion on the development of the new energy industry of Chaoyang city and collaboration with Liaoning Aerospace Linghe Automobile Co., Ltd.

Leveraging Chaoyang's abundant wind and solar resources along with industrial advantages, Farizon Auto, together with the local government and Windey, aims to utilize these resources efficiently. The collaboration will focus on the utilization of wind and solar resources, the construction of a methanol-hydrogen ecosystem, and the promotion of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles. This initiative is set to establish a demonstration area for the application of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles, advance the investment in a methanol refueling trade system, and enhance the introduction of green methanol production projects, thereby strengthening the industrial and supply chain cooperation.

Liaoning Aerospace Linghe Automotive Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, will join hands with Farizon Auto in expanding the market based on their resources. Together, they aim to advance the development of a methanol-hydrogen ecosystem and jointly promote the comprehensive development of green and high-quality initiatives across Chaoyang city.

As the first commercial vehicle group in China dedicated to the new energy vehicle sector, Farizon Auto has leveraged Geely's nearly two decades of technological advancements in the methanol field. It has developed a unique strategic technology route for methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles and has operated it comprehensively. The company said its products have been fully validated for environmental friendliness, economic viability, applicability, and reliability, leading the industry in technological maturity and market deployment at an international level. Furthermore, Farizon Auto is constructing a diversified green methanol transportation ecosystem, by promoting the integrated development of green methanol production, methanol refueling, and methanol-electric vehicles, and through an integrated approach encompassing methanol, vehicles, cargo, stations, and finance.
