Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 20, Dongfeng Motor’s eπ new energy vehicle brand officially announced the launch of its first SUV model, the eπ 008, for a comprehensive 25-day quality test journey, covering approximately 12,000 kilometers across 20 cities in China. 

Eight eπ 008 prototype vehicles departed from Dongfeng Motor's R&D Headquarters to kick off this extensive "Quality Expedition."

The test fleet will focus on evaluating various features from a customer experience perspective, including seamless engagement of the range extender (REV) system, navigation usage, intelligent driving, and smart cabin functionalities. The evaluation will involve short-term and long-distance driving under diverse road conditions, along with real-world user scenarios for test rides and simulated assessments, all aimed at continuously improving product quality and ensuring a high-quality market launch.

The Dongfeng eπ 008 is tailored as a 6-seater SUV designed for family comfort and enjoyment. It marks Dongfeng eπ's debut in the SUV segment and is expected to officially hit the market in mid-2024. 

Built on Dongfeng's Quantum Architecture, the vehicle features amenities such as a refrigerator, large screens, and comfortable seats. Additionally, it comes equipped with the SOA smart cabin system and an advanced high-performance intelligent driving system, integrating parking and driving functionalities.

In terms of dimensions, the eπ 008 measures 5,002mm in length, 1,972mm in width, 1,732mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025mm. Powertrain options for the eπ 008 will include both battery-electric version and range-extended electric version.
