Severe losses made EF steel mills curtail production

According to SMM survey of 50 EF steel mills that mainly produce construction steel, their operating rates was 42.2%, down 2.08 percentage points WoW, as of March 12.

According to SMM survey of 50 EF steel mills that mainly produce construction steel, their operating rates was 42.2%, down 2.08 percentage points WoW, as of March 12. Looking ahead, abundant steel scrap supply and muted demand led to steel inventory backlog, making most steel mills stay on the sidelines. It steel market fails to improve, the operating rates of EF steel mills may tick down this week.
