Shanghai (Gasgoo)- ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle brand under Geely Auto, announced on March 14 an ambitious step into the Middle East market with the sales its ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X models beginning in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.

This strategic move marks the company's continued efforts towards global expansion, with the opening of two pop-up stores and the planned opening of its first flagship stores in both countries set for April this year.

The pricing for these two models (exclusive of VAT) is as follows: The ZEEKR 001 starts at 226,900 UAE Dirhams (approximately 445,000 yuan) in the UAE and 230,000 Saudi Riyals (approximately 440,000 yuan) in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, the ZEEKR X is priced from 170,900 UAE Dirhams (approximately 335,000 yuan) and 174,000 Saudi Riyals (approximately 332,000 yuan).

ZEEKR is setting its sights on further expanding its footprint in the Middle East, targeting markets such as Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, and Oman. This expansion is part of a larger initiative that also includes the commencement of official sales in countries such as Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Israel, along with efforts to tap into right-hand drive markets. By 2024, ZEEKR plans to significantly bolster its presence on the global stage.

On September 29 of the previous year, ZEEKR cemented its commitment to the Middle East through national general distributor agreements signed in Shanghai with prominent dealership groups across the region, including the AW ROSTAMANI Group in the UAE, the WALLAN Group in Saudi Arabia, BLUE LAKE MOTORS in Qatar, and the Y.K. ALMOAYYED & SONS Group in Bahrain. These partnerships are aimed at building a robust ZEEKR sales and service network across four key Middle Eastern nations.

At a press conference held on February 27 this year, ZEEKR shared sales data that further underscores its market impact. Since its market debut in October 2021, the ZEEKR 001 has achieved total sales of 160,996 units, with 69,134 of those sales occurring in 2023 alone.
