Beijing (Gasgoo)- The latest vehicle model information catalogue released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed Huawei and BAIC BluePark’s first vehicle model under the Huawei Smart Selection cooperation, namely, the Xiangjie S9 (name “Xiangjie” in Chinese pinyin).

Positioned as a battery-electric sedan, the Xiangjie S9 lineup includes three models in the catalogue, bearing the Huazhang brand trademark and featuring the "STELATO" emblem.

This marks the second sedan under Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) and is scheduled to make its official appearance at the Auto China in April this year.

On February 19, BAIC BluePark announced on an interactive platform that the first model under the partnership with Huawei's Smart Selection program is planned for market release this year, positioning it as a high-end intelligent sedan.

Based on the information obtained from the MIIT, the Xiangjie S9’s pricing is expected to be higher than the first Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance sedan, the Luxeed S7, which is backed by Huawei and Chery, featuring a price range between 249,800 yuan and 349,800 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the S9 follows the design philosophy of the current HIMA sedan, resembling an enlarged version of the Luxeed S7. The dimensions of the S9 are 5,160mm in length, 1,987mm in width, and 1,486/1,498mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050mm.

Power-wise, the new vehicle will be available in two versions: a rear-mounted single-motor version and a front and rear dual-motor all-wheel-drive version. The single-motor version will have a maximum power output of 227 kW, while the front motor in the dual-motor version will have a maximum power output of 158 kW, and the rear motor will have a maximum power output of 227 kW.

Regarding the battery, the Xiangjie S9 will be equipped with batteries from CATL’s subsidiary, Jiangsu Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
