Oman's $1.35 billion polysilicon production facility has begun construction with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons. United Solar Polysilicon (FZC) SPC has started building a polysilicon production facility at the Sohar Port and Freezone, a deep-sea port between Dubai and the Omani capital Muscat. The project is worth over $1.35 billion. The factory covers an area of 160,000 square meters and is expected to start production next year, producing 100,000 tons of high-quality metallurgical silicon annually. The production process at the factory will include pouring liquid metal silicon from the furnace into molds, then cooling, casting, grinding, and packaging the ore for global export.
