Tata Power has announced that its Tata Power Solar Systems division has commissioned India's largest battery energy storage system at Rajnandgaon in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The project includes a 100-megawatt solar photovoltaic plant and a 120-megawatt-hour utility-scale BESS. Tata Power Solar Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, secured the project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in December 2021 through an EPC contract. The scope of work included engineering, design, supply, construction, and installation of the project, as well as testing, operation, and commissioning. The team deployed 239,685 double-sided monocrystalline silicon modules at the plant. The BESS for the project was provided by Tata AutoComp Systems.
