SMM News: Buenaventura has released its fourth quarter financial report, with a zinc production of 14,732 tons, an increase of 391.6% compared to the previous quarter. The total zinc production for the year 2023 was 25,008 tons. The report reveals that El Brocal's zinc concentrate production in the fourth quarter was 10,492 tons, a 368.27% increase compared to the previous quarter, mainly due to the processing of 593,000 tons of polymetallic ore previously considered as inventory in the fourth quarter of 2023. Tambomayo's zinc concentrate production in the fourth quarter was 1,478 tons, an increase of 161.88% compared to the previous quarter. Uchucchacua resumed operations in the fourth quarter of 2023, with a zinc production of 2,763 tons. It is expected that Uchucchacua will continue operations throughout 2024, with an expected year-on-year increase in production of silver, lead, and zinc. Buenaventura estimates a zinc concentrate production of 24,100-26,900 tons in 2024.
