Worried about battery explosions? 150MW energy storage project rejected! Recently, the application for a 150MW energy storage project for the 373MW photovoltaic project in Cliffe Hill, United Kingdom, was rejected by the local planning committee. The committee's report stated that lithium iron phosphate batteries are "more prone to explosions than other types of batteries." It is worth noting that the Cliffe Hill project was scheduled to begin construction in April 2023, and the investor, Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, described the facility as the "largest solar and battery energy storage project in the UK.
