Ukraine’s iron ore exports hiked by 2.36 times YoY and 94% MoM

The latest data released by Ukrainian Customs revealed a rise by 2.36 times YoY and 94% MoM to 3.115 million mt in exports in January 2024.

The latest data released by Ukrainian Customs revealed a rise by 2.36 times YoY and 94% MoM to 3.115 million mt in exports in January 2024. Among them, exports to China were 1.654 million mt, compared to zero in the same period last year. Customs data unveiled China’s iron ore imports from Ukraine were 17.44 million mt in 2021, 5.54 million mt in 2022 and 660,000 mt in 2023.

According to customs data, China's aluminium extrusion export volume (HS code 76041010, 76041090, 76042100, 76042910, 76042990) stood at 81,800 mt in August 2022, a month-on-month decrease of 11,500 mt or 12.4% and a year-on-year drop of 3.42%.
