Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD witnessed a significant milestone on February 23 as it successfully delivered the first batch of the BYD ATTO 3 (Yuan PLUS) vehicles to owners in Hungary, signaling the commencement of a new era for BYD in the Central and Eastern European market.

Hungary, situated at the heart of the European continent, boasts a longstanding history of automotive industry development, coupled with well-developed infrastructure and a mature industrial foundation.

Since entering Hungary's passenger car market in October 2023, BYD has rapidly expanded and developed its presence in the region.

Notably, the BYD ATTO 3, Dolphin, and Seal models made their debut in Hungary last October. In December of the same year, BYD announced plans to construct a new energy vehicle assembly plant in Szekszárd, Hungary, marking BYD's first passenger car assembly plant in Europe. The construction of the plant is underway and is expected to be completed and operational by 2025, producing batteries and complete vehicles, and providing thousands of job opportunities for the local community. Prior to this, BYD already had a bus factory in the country, and the construction of the passenger car assembly plant will further solidify its position in the European market.

On January 30, 2024, BYD officially signed a land pre-purchase agreement with Szekszárd city's government, achieving a significant breakthrough in BYD's localization process in the European region.

Additionally, as of now, BYD has established three stores in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, with plans to continuously expand its sales and service network. It is expected to have six stores by the end of 2024.
