Pony.ai launched pilot Robotaxi service between Beijing Yizhuang and Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Traveling between Beijing Yizhuang and Beijing Daxing International Airport now offers a new option: hopping aboard an autonomous driving vehicle. Pony.ai today announced the commencement of autonomous passenger-carrying (Robotaxi) service between the two locations, becoming one of the first enterprises authorized to conduct such demonstrations operation in Beijing.

Other companies such as Baidu, WeRide, and AutoX are also among the first batch of enterprises permitted to conduct Robotaxi shuttle service between Beijing Daxing Internation Airport and the Yizhuang area.

Pony.ai has simultaneously introduced airport shuttle services on its ride-hailing app, PonyPilot+. Passengers can conveniently schedule airport pickup and drop-off services a day in advance through the "Book a Ride" interface on the mobile app. Once the reservation is confirmed, passengers can wait at the designated time and location for their Robotaxi ride. Currently, Pony.ai operates airport shuttles from 10:00 to 17:00 daily.

The airport Robotaxi route comprises over 600 pick-up and drop-off spots within the core area of Yizhuang to the airport. The pickup point at Daxing International Airport is located at the Ground Floor's Fast Pickup Channel 17A, while the drop-off point is at the Middle Curb Lane of Departure Gate 5 on the 4th Floor. The operational route covers both urban and expressway scenarios, spanning approximately 40 kilometers, including multiple highways.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
