【SMM Daily Review: Lithium Carbonate Prices Fell on February 21】
SMM, February 21: SMM's battery-grade lithium carbonate index was at 95,489 yuan/ton, a decrease of 182 yuan/ton from the previous working day; the average price of battery-grade lithium carbonate was 93,300-99,000 yuan/ton, with an average price of 96,200 yuan/ton, a decrease of 600 yuan/ton from the previous working day; the average price of industrial-grade lithium carbonate was at 87,000-90,500 yuan/ton, with an average price of 88,800 yuan/ton, a decrease of 650 yuan/ton from the previous working day. In the recent market, the sentiment for the sale of lithium carbonate by lithium salt companies remains tepid. During the Spring Festival, less than half of the lithium salt companies that stopped production for maintenance have resumed production, and their short-term production is gradually recovering. Today, most lithium salt companies continue to sell on a firm price basis as before, while a few have gradually lowered their prices. However, some downstream companies, such as cathode material producers, have reported purchasing raw materials at lower market prices to replenish their stocks in the near term, leading to a downward shift in the overall market transaction prices.
