AGEL has started supplying power to the Indian grid using the 551 MW solar generation capacity in Khavda, Gujarat. The company achieved this milestone within 12 months of starting work at the renewable energy park in Khavda, beginning with the development of infrastructure including roads and connectivity. It has also transformed the barren land of the Rann of Kutch to create an environment suitable for 8,000 workers. AGEL plans to develop 30 GW of renewable energy capacity at this site, with the planned capacity expected to be operational within the next five years. Once completed, the Khavda renewable energy park will be the largest of its kind in the world. The 30GW Khavda renewable energy park is expected to generate 81 billion units of clean electricity annually, powering 16.1 million households and helping to offset 58 million tons of CO2 emissions each year.
