Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 19, BYD's Ocean series officially put the Honor ("Rongyao" in Chinese Pinyin) version of the BYD Destroyer 05 model onto the market. Coming with six trim levels, the new product is priced between 79,800 yuan and 128,800 yuan.

Despite a 22,000-yuan reduction in the suggested starting retail price compared to the Champion Edition, the Honor Edition maintains its full features. Furthermore, BYD introduces the alluring new color option - Inkstone Blue, along with four exclusive limited-time purchase benefits.

In terms of appearance, the BYD Destroyer 05 Honor Edition stays true to the existing model's design, embracing BYD's Oceanic Aesthetics. The front fascia features a multi-horizontal-bar grille paired with a through-type light strip design, creating a youthful and sporty look. The addition of the Inkstone Blue color option enhances the overall sophistication.

The sleek profile of the sedan exhibits a streamlined, coupe-like style. It measures 4,780mm in length, 1,837mm in width, and 1,495mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,718mm. Moving to the rear, the light strip that stretches across the width of the car contributes to a simple and elegant appearance.

The interior of the BYD Destroyer 05 Honor Edition remains consistent with the Champion Edition. Standard features include a 12.8-inch adaptive floating Pad, DiLink smart connectivity system, full-scenario digital key, rear air vents, one-key start, and continuous voice recognition. The top-spec variant adds advanced functionalities like full-speed adaptive cruise control, AEB active braking system, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning.

Under the hood, the vehicle is equipped with the DM-i super plug-in hybrid electric system comprising a 1.5L engine and a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor. The engine delivers a maximum power of 81 kW and a peak torque of 135 N·m. The drive motor of the 55km version achieves a maximum power of 132 kW and a peak torque of 316 N·m, while the 120km version boasts 145 kW of power and 325 N·m of torque. The pure electric range, tested under NEDC conditions, stands at 55km and 120km, respectively.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
