【SMM Analysis: Monthly raw material inventory of lead smelters hits historical high. Can post-holiday scrap battery prices fall?】SMM News on February 7: Since August 2023, the monthly raw material inventory of recycled lead has been on a downward trend; until the end of January 2024, the raw material inventory reversed the trend and hit a historical high. According to research, in late August 2023, large-scale new smelters such as Anhui Tianshuo and Hunan Kangze were put into operation, and at the same time, Guizhou Qizhen expanded its production capacity, followed by the resumption of production at large smelters in Jiangxi, leading to a substantial increase in the digestion of scrap batteries... With the Spring Festival approaching, many scrap battery traders are currently on holiday, and logistics transportation has gradually stagnated due to the combination of adverse weather and holiday factors; smelters mostly focus on digesting raw material inventory, with sporadic small amounts of scrap batteries being collected...
