Beijing (Gasgoo)- AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, announced the AVATR 12 model’s full-scale activation of urban NCA (Navigation Cruise Assistance) intelligent driving function, which operates independently of high-precision maps.

This capability is now available for nationwide use, covering all major road types, including highways, national roads, provincial roads, and rural roads, as well as main, auxiliary, and support roads within city limits.

The AVATR 12, which hit the market in November 2023, embraces the "Future Elegance" design philosophy, providing a unified vehicle body design for enhanced spaciousness. Equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4-based Harmony Cockpit and Huawei's advanced intelligent driving system, HUAWEI ADS 2.0, the AVATR 12 promises a seamless and sophisticated driving experience.

The Huawei Harmony Cockpit offers a smooth interactive experience, featuring a 15.6-inch Huawei Smart Central Screen and a 35.4-inch 4K integrated remote screen. These connect users' smartphones, pads, and other smart terminals, creating a powerful intelligent travel super terminal.

The AVATR 12's high-end intelligent driving system, HUAWEI ADS 2.0, comes standard with three concealed LiDAR units, enabling long-range detection surpassing the length of a standard football field. With a comprehensive 4-tier perception system, the vehicle not only navigates traditional challenges like tidal lanes, variable lanes, and intersection turns but also constructs scenes from the car's perspective, aligning navigation maps with the real world.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
