Changan Auto officially revealed the official images of its latest addition to the UNI series, the UNI-Z.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Changan Auto officially revealed the official images of its latest addition to the UNI series, the UNI-Z. According to previous filings with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the UNI-Z is positioned as a compact plug-in hybrid electric SUV.

The model is likely to hit the market in the first quarter of this year with an estimated price around 150,000 yuan.

Embracing the UNI family's dynamic design language, the UNI-Z features a borderless grille with a parametric dot matrix design, exuding a strong sense of futurism and technology. The rear adopts a through-type taillight design complemented by a mechanical spoiler. The dimensions measure 4,730mm/1,890mm/1,680 (1,660)mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2,795mm.

Inside, the UNI-Z boasts a wrap-around cockpit design, radiating a blend of luxury and technological sophistication. A standout feature is the oversized floating central control screen, coupled with a tiered information layout, enhancing the human-machine interaction with intelligent flair. The center console, armrest, and side door panels are generously wrapped in soft leather, elevating the interior's premium quality.

Notably, the central console of the UNI-Z, near the front windshield, hosts a ship-shaped component emitting a reactor-like light. This innovative ambient light syncs with the vehicle's driving status, providing users with an immersive futuristic driving experience.

Powering the UNI-Z is the latest hybrid system meticulously crafted over 27 months by Changan Auto. Beyond exceptional foundational performance, it promises a revolutionary driving experience. It is equipped with a plug-in hybrid electric system based on a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine that delivers a maximum power of 72 kW.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
