Shanghai (Gagsoo)- In a recent collaboration with the local distributor Cimex Inc, BYD officially launched the BYD SEAL in Nepal with a starting price of NPR 10.5 million (approximately 562,000 yuan). This marks BYD's third electric vehicle introduced in the Nepalese market, following the BYD ATTO 3 (known as the Yuan PLUS in China) and the BYD DOLPHIN.

Built on the the e-Platform 3.0, the BYD SEAL incorporates the CTB (cell-to-body) battery chassis integration technology, iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) technology, and comes with both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive layouts. The model is equipped with front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension systems.

The roots of BYD's association with Nepal run deep. As early as 2018, the BYD e6 entered the Nepalese presidential fleet, serving as the official vehicle for the President and government officials. In October 2022, BYD formally entered the passenger car market in Nepal, introducing three popular models successively, providing local consumers with a fresh range of passenger car options.

Against the backdrop of Nepal's commitment to promoting electric vehicles, the government is actively encouraging the adoption of electric cars. Leveraging its abundant hydropower resources as a mountainous nation, the country’s power utility plans to construct 500 additional charging stations in major highways and urban areas, facilitating the transition to electric mobility. Fueled by the growing demand for electric vehicles, BYD commits to continuously introducing models tailored to the local market, collaborating with premium local partners to establish a robust sales and after-sales service system.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
