Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 31, Baidu's autonomous driving ride-hailing platform (Robotaxi service), Apollo Go, received the license for the intelligent connected vehicle unmanned commercial trial in Shenzhen's Bao'an District.
This milestone allows Apollo Go to initiate fully autonomous commercial operations and charge fares in the Bao'an area of Shenzhen, following its successful deployment in the Pingshan District.
In recent years, Apollo Go has been steadily expanding its presence across various cities, currently serving Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuhan, and Chongqing with fully unmanned Robotaxi fleets. The platform's fully autonomous ride-hailing services offer commuters a reliable option for convenient and safe travel.
Being the world's largest autonomous driving ride-hailing service provider, as of September 30, 2023, Baidu's Apollo Go has completed over 4.1 million orders, with 821,000 ride services provided in the third quarter of 2023, reflecting a remarkable 73% year-on-year growth.
Up to now, the Baidu Apollo L4 autonomous driving safety system has accumulated operation test distance exceeding 80 million kilometers, holding a global leadership position with over 5,000 high-level autonomous driving patents. Currently, Apollo Go is actively advancing the large-scale application of fully autonomous driving Robotaxi services, conducting comprehensive unmanned autonomous driving commercial operations and testing across multiple cities nationwide.
