SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) officially announced today its latest generation of new energy commercial vehicle (NECV)-- the Wuling Yangguang.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") officially announced today its latest generation of new energy commercial vehicle (NECV)-- the Wuling Yangguang. The vehicle made its debut with the innovative Wuling Red No. 1 battery, marking the company's first NECV model built on an entirely new native platform.

Embodying a fresh design language, the Wuling Yangguang showcases a front end with a touch of passenger car dynamics, complemented by a square-edged rear design that creates a swooping, dynamic posture. The model measures 4,985mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,975mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,050mm, and features LED headlights and fog lights. Additionally, the new vehicle offers a choice of two exterior colors: Mountain Sea Blue-Gray and Polar White.

In its debut, the Wuling Yangguang is the inaugural model to carry the Wuling Red No. 1 Battery specially developed for NECVs. The company claims that the new battery is the first in its class to utilize liquid cooling technology, offering enhanced compatibility with the evolving needs of commercial vehicle users in the new era. Currently, the new battery has gone into mass production.

The Wuling Yangguang boasts a spacious 6.5m³interior, with a cargo compartment length of 2,830mm, a maximum width of 1,680mm, and a height of 1,365mm. The vehicle adopts a cage-type body and is equipped with 12 layers of reinforced tire fabric tires.

[Auto: GAC Yinpai's first overseas battery plant starts production in Thailand]
GAC Yinpai opened its Thailand plant in Chonburi Province on October 29, with the first power battery pack rolling off the line. It is GAC Group's first overseas self-owned battery PACK plant, marking Yinpai's shift from product export to localized manufacturing. The plant brings proven battery technology and smart manufacturing standards to Thailand, supporting GAC's vehicle exports and ASEAN deliveries. Thailand targets 30% zero-emission vehicles by 2030, or over 700,000 electric passenger cars, driving local battery demand.

[Solid-state battery: Central South University and Greenway apply for sulphide composite cathode patent, building a multi-scale network to reduce interfacial impedance] On 27 October 2026, the China National Intellectual Property Administration published a patent for a sulphide all-solid-state battery composite cathode material jointly applied for by Central South University and Greenway (688345) (publication number CN122992033A). The material uses a high-nickel layered oxide as the cathode matrix, composited with nano-scale and micron-scale sulphide solid electrolytes, interfacial activators, and an amorphous self-adaptive ion-buffering material, constructing a gradient-distributed multi-scale synergistic ion transport network along the direction from particle surfaces to interstices. The patent aims to simultaneously achieve low interfacial impedance and excellent cycling stability under low stacking pressure, directly targeting the core engineering bottleneck on the cathode side of sulphide all-solid-state batteries.
