Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 28, GAC AION held a brand and product launch event in Hong Kong to introduce both the AION new energy vehicle brand and the AION Y Plus model to the local market.

Alongside the AION Y Plus, star products like the Hyper SSR and Hyper HT dazzled in the showroom, presenting a new energy automotive technology feast for Hong Kong.

Amidst Hong Kong's active pursuit of green transformation, GAC Group's goal extends beyond product sales. Focusing on the Hong Kong market, the automaker plans to offer an integrated new energy industry chain solution. This involves creating green energy and intelligent charging solutions, along with synchronized development of vehicle and charging infrastructure.

Catering to Hong Kong consumers, GAC Group will deploy there 1,000V supercharging stations, planning to complete the construction of more than 300 fast-charging piles. These will cover various locations such as offices, malls, hotels, airports, and government public areas, comprehensively addressing Hong Kong users' charging needs. GAC Group aims to provide a more complete ecosystem, products, and services, better serving the local community and supporting Hong Kong's green transformation.

Hong Kong, as a global free port and international financial center, is a crucial engine for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serves as a vital link connecting Southeast Asia with the East and the West. GAC's strategic move into the Hong Kong market in 2019, establishing a subsidiary and creating platforms for international capital, talent, and investment, laid the groundwork. The introduction of the GAC AION brand to Hong Kong marks a key step in GAC's international journey, shaping a new development pattern centered around the Greater Bay Area and radiating across the Asia-Pacific region.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
