On January 25, Great Wall Motor officially announced the launch of the ORA brand's ORA 03 model in Chile (named ORA Good Cat in China), marking a significant move into the South American market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 25, Great Wall Motor ("GWM") officially announced the launch of the ORA brand's  ORA 03 model in Chile (named ORA Good Cat in China), marking a significant move into the South American market.

This strategic launch aligns with Chile's plan to ban sales of most internal combustion vehicles starting in 2023. GWM, foreseeing this shift, had already taken a proactive stance in May 2023 by introducing the Haval JOLION HEV and Haval H6 HEV models in the Chilean market. The unveiling of the ORA Good Cat now completes its product lineup in Chile, encompassing both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models.

GWM affirmed its commitment to further deepen its presence in the Chilean market's new energy vehicles sector. The company aims to offer an array of high-quality, eco-friendly vehicle choices to meet the escalating mobility needs of the local consumers. Leveraging the debut of the ORA brand, GWM aims not only to enhance its brand influence but also to expand its market share in Chile.

Chile becomes the third market in Latin America where the ORA Good Cat is launched, following Brazil and Mexico. Beyond the Latin American region, the model has already hit the markets in Australia, Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and more.

In July 2023, the ORA Good Cat officially hit the market in Brazil, and in January 2024, the first locally-produced ORA Good Cat rolled off the assembly line at GWM' Rayong factory in Thailand. This marked not only a historic moment for the Thai automotive industry, being the first Thailand-made BEV model, but also GWM' first BEV model produced outside China.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
