Beijing Hyundai rolls off 12 millionth vehicle in end of 2023

In the closing days of 2023, Beijing Hyundai, the joint venture between BAIC Group and Hyundai Motor, celebrated the production milestone of its 12 millionth vehicle.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- In the closing days of 2023, Beijing Hyundai, the joint venture between BAIC Group and Hyundai Motor, celebrated the production milestone of its 12 millionth vehicle.

Notably, the momentous occasion coincided with the official production launch of the eleventh-generation Sonata, making Beijing Hyundai the fifth Sino-foreign auto joint venture, following FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC-GM Buick, SAIC Volkswagen, and Dongfeng Nissan, to achieve this remarkable feat.

According to the company, Beijing Hyundai's annual sales for 2023 reached 257,000 units, marking a 2.8% year-on-year rise. Key performing models included the all-new Elantra, which realized a yearly sales volume surpassing 110,000 units, up 19% year over year. The 5th generation Tucson L SUV and the upgraded ix35, the MUFASA SUV, collectively achieved annual sales exceeding 100,000 units. Beijing Hyundai’s high-end models witnessed an 11% year-on-year growth in annual sales, contributing to over 34% of the company’s total sales in 2023. The consistent performance across the automaker’s product lineup paved the way for Beijing Hyundai to proudly reach the 12 millionth vehicle production milestone in 2023.
