Beijing (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor’s autonomous driving technology arm Dongfeng Sharing recently obtained road test licenses for its fleet of 10 Robotaxis operating in Suzhou's Jinji Lake scenic area, signaling the official launch of the first batch of autonomous taxis in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, in 2024.

These 10 Dongfeng Robotaxis are currently undergoing road tests and are expected to provide trial rides for local residents after the Chinese New Year. Passengers can easily hail a ride through an online platform within the permitted autonomous driving routes, enjoying the convenience of autonomous travel.

Operating along various designated roads, the Dongfeng autonomous taxis will cover approximately 36 km of service distance, with six fixed stops and the flexibility to add virtual stations based on travel demands and road conditions. The route connects key locations within the area, including the International Expo Center, Suzhou Center, Suzhou Industrial Park Railway Station, Jinji Lake scenic area, Hilton, Hyatt, and Shangri-La hotels, offering passengers a comprehensive "one-stop" intelligent travel experience encompassing shopping, leisure, and sightseeing.

Equipped with a sensor fusion perception system utilizing LiDAR, high-definition cameras, millimeter-wave radar, and more, Dongfeng's Robotaxis excel in environmental perception and rapid response in complex conditions. With standardized roadside intelligent infrastructure and communication networks in place, these vehicles conduct crucial testing and verification of integrated vehicle-road-cloud systems, exploring commercial operation possibilities.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
