Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 10, Cerence, the provider of AI-powered mobility experiences, announced a collaboration with the Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor (GWM).

GWM has selected Cerence to deliver enhanced in-car experience across its global vehicle lineup. This technological integration will be available in the automaker’s mainstay models, including the GWM TANK 300, the GWM TANK 500, the ORA 07, and the POER, offering intuitive and natural interactions in 13 languages across 20 countries.

Leveraging the Cerence Assistant and Cerence SSE voice enhancement technology, GWM introduces key features such as wake-word activation ("Hey GWM"), multi-step interactions, intelligent multi-zone support, and multi-user interactions. These functionalities empower both drivers and passengers to interact with the voice assistant based on their seats and preferences, enhancing overall engagement and responsiveness.

The Cerence SSE further enables users to interrupt conversations at any time, elevating the interaction experience and response speed. Additionally, GWM utilizes Cerence SSE to enhance the audio quality of phone calls and interaction with other in-car assistant platforms. The collaboration between GWM and Cerence aims to provide continuous post-purchase upgrades and features through cloud updates, including new AI-driven capabilities and large-scale language model-based functions.

Moreover, the Cerence Assistant enables GWM drivers to control various functions through voice commands, encompassing navigation, media, phone calls, weather, online music, vehicle information (fuel, mileage, maintenance), and vehicle controls (windows, sunroof, climate, ambient lighting, seat temperature).

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
