SMM Analysis: Expectations for January Overhauls of Primary Lead gradually being Met, Tightening Circulation of Goods increases Spot Premium (Attached: Final Survey of Overhaul Scheduling from December to January) In January, the impact of excessive reduction in production due to environmental issues in the recycled refined lead market has led to a shift in procurement demand to the primary lead market. This has resulted in a further decrease in the already insufficient stocks of primary lead smelters, leading to a tightening trend in the circulation of goods in the market and an increase in spot premiums. For some smelters, the pre-sale queue for goods has been extended to the end of January. While a few smelters have postponed their overhaul plans to February, the majority of primary lead smelters are still carrying out their regular January maintenance as originally planned.
