Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Fuyao Group, a large multinational company specializing in the manufacture of automobile safety glass and industrial technical glass, is ambitious to build the world's largest automotive glass export base in Fuqing city, Fujian province.

The group officially signed an agreement with the Fuqing Municipal People's Government on January 9, marking the commencement of a groundbreaking project – the production of intelligent automotive safety glass with an annual production capacity of 4 million sets.

The ambitious venture involves a total investment of 3.25 billion yuan. Upon completion, it is anticipated to generate an annual output value of 3 billion yuan, contributing over 200 million yuan in taxes annually, while also creating around 3,000 job opportunities.

Fuyao Group said it aims to build the project into a world-leading zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing factory that incorporates cutting-edge features such as photovoltaic and wind power facilities. Construction is slated to commence in March of this year, covering an expansive area of 398,000 square meters, with a total floor area of 594,000 square meters (factories with heights exceeding 8 meters are calculated at twice their actual area).

Besides, the industrial park where the project is located will witness the construction of essential factories for supply chain, alongside the establishment of R&D centers, design hubs, product prototyping centers, office buildings, and other supporting living facilities.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
