According to the SMM imported ore profit table, there has been a small loss in imported ore profit, but multiple varieties of iron ore are still in deficit. From a fundamental perspective, based on SMM's tracking and research of blast furnace maintenance data, as the Spring Festival approaches and steel mills continue to suffer losses, the maintenance plans for some steel mills' blast furnaces have increased. This week (January 6th to January 12th), the impact of blast furnace maintenance on molten iron production was 2.1247 million tons, an increase of 37,700 tons from the previous week. Molten iron production this week hit a new low in the second half of the year, and iron ore demand has declined. Furthermore, steel mills are slow to replenish their stock before the festival, spot transactions continue to be at a low level, and the risk of a decrease in ore prices is increasing. It is expected that the profit of imported ore will continue to weaken in the near future.
