Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 8, the 200,000th mass-produced vehicle from ZEEKR, a premium electric vehicle brand under ZEEKR, was formally handed over to its owner at the Panyu Delivery Center in Guangzhou city. This also marked the inaugural delivery of the ZEEKR 007 in the South China region.

Impressively, it took ZEEKER only 26 months to hit the milestone, showcasing its mature manufacturing capability and market popularity.

The handover event witnessed insights shared by ZEEKR Intelligent Technology's Vice President, Lin Jinwen. He unveiled ZEEKR's ambitious plans to accelerate further, aiming to complete the next 200,000-unit deliveries within the next 12 months. This accelerated pace indicates that ZEEKR's sales target for 2024 may surpass 200,000 units.

ZEEKR, introduced as Geely's innovative smart electric vehicle brand in April 2021, debuted with the ZEEKR 001, which was crafted on the Lynk & Co ZERO Concept. Subsequently, the ZEEKR 009, a mid-to-large-sized MPV built on Geely's SEA architecture hit the market on November 1, 2022, with prices ranging from 499,000 yuan to 588,000 yuan. Following this, the ZEEKR X, a compact all-electric SUV, went on sale on April 12, 2023, starting at 189,800 yuan.

On December 27, 2023, ZEEKR expanded its product lineup with the official market launch of its first sedan, the ZEEKR 007. Featuring four different trim levels, the ZEEKR 007 is priced between 209,900 yuan to 259,900 yuan. Additionally, the top-spec four-wheel-drive performance variant is priced at 299,900 yuan. Built on the PMA2+ platform under the SEA architecture, the ZEEKR 007 positions itself as a mid-sized electric sedan, vying with the likes of the BYD Han, XPeng P7, and Tesla Model 3.

At the beginning of 2023, ZEEKR's CEO, An Conghui, outlined key objectives for the year in an internal memo. These included the ambitious goal of delivering 140,000 vehicles to end-users, launching two new products, and embarking on a path towards globalization. ZEEKR's annual sales reached 118,685 units in 2023, reflecting a remarkable 65% year-on-year growth. Despite this achievement, the sales target of 140,000 units was not fully met, with a completion rate of 79.12%.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
