SMM Analysis: The risk of Chinese companies going overseas increases with FEOC+IRA? Enjie Group reduces investment in US diaphragm project.
SMM, January 5th: Recently, Chinese diaphragm giant Enjie Group issued a public announcement, disclosing the latest progress of the US lithium battery diaphragm project. According to the announcement, Enjie Group is expected to reduce the investment in the US lithium battery diaphragm project from the previous 916 million US dollars to 276 million US dollars, a overall reduction of nearly 70%. Specifically, the cost breakdown includes construction expenses of approximately 95 million US dollars, machinery and equipment expenses of 149 million US dollars, and working capital of 32 million US dollars. Capacity adjustments have also been made, with the construction changing from the previously planned 10-12 billion square meters of base film production line and supporting coating equipment to the construction of 14 lithium battery diaphragm production lines with an annual capacity of 700 million square meters.
