Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 2, XPeng announced the extended reach of its XNGP (XPeng Navigation Guided Pilot) intelligent assisted driving system, with the urban intelligent driving capabilities now encompass an additional 191 cities, expanding the total coverage to 243 cities nationwide.

XPeng's official statement highlights the immediate integration of this enhanced functionality into the Xmart OS 4.5.0 system for existing users of the G9, G6, and P7i models, eliminating the need for further over-the-air updates. As long as users drive within the supported areas, they can seamlessly experience this cutting-edge driving assistance technology.

Specifically addressing the recently launched XPeng X9, which had just hit the market on January 1, the company ensures that upon vehicle delivery, users will receive the latest XNGP features and city coverage without delay.

Within major cities, the XNGP system covers various complex driving scenarios and transitions across multiple settings, catering to the specific demands of local XPeng owners, particularly on main routes. In smaller cities, XPeng prioritizes opening up core routes frequently used by users, ensuring a relatively continuous and comprehensive XNGP experience. Furthermore, the company has specialized functionalities planned for roads of lower demand priority.

Notably, XPeng's XNGP demonstrates a remarkable performance even in areas without high-precision maps (HD maps), relying on a combination of navigation maps, XNet perception capabilities, and driving strategies to achieve driving experiences similar to that of HD map-covered areas.

As of now, the XNGP solution blankets the national expressway network and spans across 21 provinces, including three municipalities, nine provincial capitals, 150 prefecture-level cities, and 81 county-level cities in China. The coverage extends beyond expressways and main roads to secondary routes and inter-city national highways.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
