Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 26, the LiDAR supplier Hesai Technology announced that its cumulative LiDAR deliveries have surpassed 300,000 units since its inception, establishing itself as the world's first automotive LiDAR company to reach this feat.

After years of chip R&D, tape-out, system iterations, DV/PV automotive-grade validations, and the climb to mass production, Hesai achieved a remarkable milestone within just three months of starting production and successfully delivered over 10,000 units of the AT128 LiDAR in a single month. In December 2022, Hesai reached the cumulative delivery landmark of 100,000-unit LiDAR.

Hesai's internally developed highly automated LiDAR production line integrates cutting-edge intelligent manufacturing technology, utilizing a plethora of intelligent industrial robots to automate over 100 production processes, including PCB assembly, lens assembly, gluing, screw fastening, electronic testing, and more. With an automation rate exceeding 90%, a LiDAR unit is produced every 45 seconds.

Additionally, Hesai's self-developed intelligent cloud MES central control system enables precise tracking throughout the production chain, ensuring real-time quality control and meticulous oversight of each production phase. This systemic control effectively eradicates the possibility of substandard products entering the market.

In November 2022, the company inaugurated the Maxwell Intelligent Manufacturing Center, covering over 69,300 square meters and encompassing nearly a hundred LiDAR functionality and performance tests, including 50+ vehicle-level tests, with an indoor long-range test distance reaching 200 meters. The Maxwell center hosts world-class LiDAR R&D and intelligent production technology, ensuring a complete closed-loop from design to production, guaranteeing Hesai's capability to deliver high-quality laser radar products that meet stringent standards at scale.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
