Beijing (Gasgoo)- WAYTOUS, the Chinese unmanned mining solution provider, has partnered with the Wuhan Institute of Industrial Innovation and Development (WHIIID) to establish the WHIIID Intelligent Vehicle Research Institute.

The newly formed institute is a consortium of top-tier researchers from esteemed institutions like the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jilin University, and China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing. It aims to tackle challenges in intelligent vehicle perception, decision-making, and more through artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

The institute's focus is on developing highly autonomous and intelligent autonomous driving systems for intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), building advanced intelligent vehicle and big data platforms, and initiating engineering projects in multiple intelligent vehicle scenarios. Their ultimate goal is to industrialize autonomous driving technologies and propel the rapid advancement of China's autonomous driving sector.

For WAYTOUS, as a pioneer in intelligent mining technology incubated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this partnership expands its technological horizons beyond mining. Up to now, WAYTOUS has already made strides with "YUGONG," an autonomous parallel mine operating system, implemented in over 30 projects with top energy and mining groups.

This initiative signifies WAYTOUS' commitment to technological innovation. Beyond mining, WAYTOUS is actively diversifying into industries like park logistics, engineering machinery intellectualization, short-distance transportation, and intelligent networking construction. Their multifaceted approach aims to reshape various industries through technological advancements.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
