Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 18, 2023, Chery New Energy kicked off pre-sale of the iCAR 03 Smart Driving Edition, marking the world's inaugural mass-produced vehicle equipped with advanced intelligent driving capabilities relying solely on biologically inspired binocular pure vision sensors, as confirmed by the system’s supplier, DJI Automotive.
This model, absent of ultrasonic, millimeter-wave, and laser radar, is furnished with a unique setup, featuring dual 8-megapixel forward-looking inertial navigation stereoscopic cameras, a single 3-megapixel rear-view monocular camera, and four 3-megapixel panoramic fish-eye cameras. The array enables an extensive suite of functionalities like memory driving, highway piloting, and cross-level memory parking within its 7V configuration platform, said DJI Automotive.
Built upon the iCAR brand’s ethos of "distinctive playfulness" and leveraging its substantial technological prowess, the iCAR 03 Smart Driving Edition actualizes the mass production of pure vision L2++ intelligent driving functions atop DJI Automotive's platform capabilities. This collaborative feat authentically simulates complex driving maneuvers via binocular vision, humanizing the intelligent driving experience. Furthermore, this achievement promises ongoing updates and enhancements, ensuring progressively refined and human-like intelligent driving.
Positioned as a box-shaped SUV model, the iCAR 03 boasts the i-ROAD electric four-wheel drive control, switchable between two-wheel and four-wheel drive modes. Integrated with the hybrid chassis technology akin to the Land Rover Defender, aluminum multi-cell cage-type body, and honeycomb embedded ultra-strength aluminum beams, it excels in versatile terrain handling.
The iCAR 03's global pre-sale has commenced, with the pre-sale price for the four-wheel drive long-range Smart Driving Edition set at 185,800 yuan.
