Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 17, Chinese automaker Haima Motor Corporation ("Haima") hosted an event in Hanoi EcoPark to announce the launch of the Haima 7X and Haima 7X-E models into the Vietnamese market, signaling the commencement of a new chapter in Haima's strategic deployment within the ASEAN market.

The Haima 7X is a 7-seater MPV models for family use, while the 7X-E is the MPV's all-electric variant.

Expanding on the geographical proximity and economic complementarity between China’s Hainan province and Vietnam, the two regions have fostered close economic, trade, and cultural ties, laying a robust foundation for collaboration. Since Haima Motor's entry into the Vietnamese market in 2009, nearly 5,000 vehicles have been sold there, establishing a commendable brand reputation and market presence.

In July 2022, Haima Motor forged a partnership with Carvivu, a Vietnamese car distributor, culminating in a cooperation agreement to jointly cultivate the Vietnamese market. The collaborative efforts between the two entities began to take shape, setting the stage for the recent product launch.

Fast forward to February 2023, during a Hainan Free Trade Port Promotion Conference in Vietnam, Lu Guogang, Chairman of Hainan Haima Motor Co., Ltd., and Gary Cheung, Chairman of Carvivu, signed a memorandum of cooperation for a new energy vehicle project. Notably, the Haima 7X, made a prominent appearance at the event as the sole car locally produced in the Hainan Free Trade Port.

In June 2023, the Haima Motor showroom in Hanoi was officially inaugurated. Then in August, Carvivu successfully convened the inaugural Haima Motor Vietnam Dealership Conference, securing agreements with 16 dealers.

Looking ahead, Haima Motor plans to further expand its footprint in Vietnam, with upcoming models such as the Haima 8S, Haima S7, and S5 set to enter production and hit the Vietnamese market.
