Typhoon 'Jelawat' (No. 17) made landfall in southern Philippines - According to the Philippine National Meteorological Organization, Typhoon 'Jelawat' (No. 17) landed near Davao province in the Philippines at around 9:30 am on December 18th with a tropical storm level intensity. Due to the typhoon, multiple areas in Mindanao Island raised a Signal No. 2 warning, leading to suspension of work and classes in various regions, including Davao City.
