Beijing (Gasgoo)- Starting December 15, 2023, LiDAR solution provider Innovusion has changed its English name to "Seyond", retaining its Chinese name while introducing a revamped brand logo.

The new name Seyond derives from the combination of "See" and "Beyond." According to Seyond's CEO, Bao Junwei, in an open letter, this rebranding marks a pivotal moment in the company's trajectory, symbolizing their commitment to growth, evolution, and pushing the boundaries of LiDAR technology.

The global landscape of automotive LiDAR has witnessed constant shifts, presenting significant growth opportunities for Chinese LiDAR manufacturers. The burgeoning trend of the City NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) technology has spurred increased integration of LiDAR into vehicles in China, nearly becoming a standard feature among models equipped with City NOA functionality.

Seyond has actively facilitated the delivery of LiDAR to nine passenger car models and has forged extensive collaborations with various autonomous commercial truck enterprises such as TuSimple, Zhito Technology, Plus, EACON, DeepWay, Autra Tech, and Driveblocks. Moreover, such Robotaxi operators like Mogo Auto and Caocao Mobility, and companies in the smart city infrastructure, smart highways, intelligent rail transit, smart shipping, and smart ports fields, are also clients of Seyond.

The rebranding doesn't disrupt ongoing partnerships, said Seyond.

Positioned alongside Hesai Technology and RoboSense, Seyond forms the vanguard among domestic LiDAR manufacturers. With Hesai's recent NASDAQ debut and RoboSense's impending Hong Kong IPO, Seyond has also initiated its IPO plans, aiming to issue approximately 21,382,252 ordinary shares for listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange, as per the China Securities Regulatory Commission's disclosure.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
