During the week ending December 14, the CIF price of spodumene concentrate saw a continued decrease. Overseas mines maintained stable production, thanks to robust cash flow, share prices, and strategies to increase yields by reducing output grade. No imminent production cuts are anticipated. On the demand side, lithium salt producers showed caution in procuring lithium ore. Negotiations were underway between some downstream cathode and battery manufacturers and overseas mines to lower ore prices. Inquiry price from domestic lithium salt spot prices remained below sellers' preferred levels, leading to limited transactions. There are speculations that a major lithium salt producer has made significant purchases of spot spodumene. The price of imported spodumene is expected to keep falling.
