Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 11, ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle brand under Geely Auto, announced the successful delivery of the first European-spec ZEEKR 001 car in the Netherlands, signaling the official commencement of its vehicle deliveries in Europe.

ZEEKR said it regarded Europe as its second primary battlefield. On June 28, 2023, the automaker kicked off presale of the ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X models in the European markets, with prices starting at 59,490 (around 460,000 yuan) and €44,990 (around 348,000 yuan), respectively.

Having already sold 180,000 vehicles in China as of November this year, ZEEKR emphasizes its commitment to a global user base since the inception of each model's R&D. The models exported to Europe undergo differentiated feature development to cater to local demands.

ZEEKR had previously announced its plans to enter eight international mainstream markets and regions this year, in addition to its presence in China and Europe. With continuous development of right-hand drive products, the carmaker aims to further expand its global footprint in the future.

On November 16, the first ZEEKR Center in Europe opened in Stockholm, Sweden, with another center scheduled to open for business in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on December 14. Besides, ZEEKR's sales network is expected to cover major developed countries in Western Europe by 2024 and most Western European regions by 2026.

On October 12, ZEEKR announced it had forged a comprehensive European partnership with BNP Paribas and Arval. This strategic alliance aims to provide ZEEKR users with an array of financial solutions that encompass every aspect of their mobility needs, backed by comprehensive leasing and insurance services.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
