Beijing (Gasgoo)- Li Auto announced the formal rollout of the OTA 4.6.5 on December 7, unveiling a significant enhancement in vehicles’ winter driving range by 15-20%.

The update focuses on leveraging Li Auto’s in-house-developed XCU (Centralized Controller Unit) and intelligent thermal management system, marking strides in battery-powered driving range enhancement.

The update revolves around three core aspects, including algorithmic refinement, optimized extender intervention timing, and intelligent air conditioning power adjustment.

Specifically, through the upgraded battery control algorithms, the vehicles can improve precision in estimating remaining battery capacity, optimizing the efficient utilization of battery power.

Meanwhile, the enhanced discharge strategies delay the intervention of the range extender, ensuring power while extending the utilization of pure electric power.

Finally, in energy-saving mode, the upgraded system adjusts air conditioning power based on interior and exterior temperatures, aligning with passenger-set temperatures. This real-time adjustment ensures both interior comfort and increased pure electric range.

Official data from Li Auto for November showcased a remarkable delivery figure of 41,030 vehicles, marking a 172.9% year-on-year surge. November also marked the second consecutive month for Li Auto’s delivery to surpass the 40,000-unit mark. As of November 30, the company’s annual deliveries tallied 325,677 vehicles, surpassing the yearly target of 300,000 units ahead of schedule.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
