Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 1, Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand DEEPAL officially announced 16,157 vehicles delivered in November.

Meanwhile, the cumulative deliveries of the DEEPAL S7 model surpassed 50,000 units as of November 2023.

Notably, the DEEPAL S07 (DEEPAL S7 in China) and the DEEPAL L07 (DEEPAL SL03 in China), officially hit the Thai market on November 29, with deliveries commencing in December.

Changan's 2023 Southeast Asia Conference, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 27, not only signaled Changan's intent to make Thailand a cornerstone of its global strategy but also aimed to establish a foothold in the Thai market while expanding its reach to Southeast Asian countries and global right-hand drive markets.

As part of its strategy, Changan plans to introduce such new energy vehicle brands as AVATR and NEVO (Changan Qiyuan) in Thailand. The ambitious plan includes launching 15 new energy vehicle models by 2030 to drive the popularization of intelligent driving and foster rapid growth in Thailand's new energy vehicle industry.

Changan not only established local sales networks and partnerships with renowned local enterprises, but also built marketing capabilities through collaborations with prominent Thai distributors. By 2025, the Chinese automaker aims to complete city-wide layouts across major Thai cities.

Moreover, Changan plans to invest 20 billion Thai Baht (approximately 4.075 billion yuan) to establish a new energy vehicle production base in Thailand, with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles. The initial phase, involving an investment of 10 billion Thai Baht (about 2.037 billion yuan) with a production capacity of 100,000 vehicles annually, has already commenced construction, set to begin operations in early 2025.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
