Cumulatively, from January to November of this year, GAC AION's sales surged to 434,056 units, representing an 80% year-on-year spike.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION recently revealed impressive sales figures for November, with 41,567 units sold, marking a remarkable 45% year-on-year growth. Cumulatively, from January to November of this year, its sales surged to 434,056 units, representing an 80% year-on-year spike.

Among its lineup, the newly-launched Hyper HT saw brisk demand with nearly 2,000 vehicles delivered in just half a month after hitting the market in mid-November.

Notably, GAC AION has maintained monthly volumes above 40,000 units since March 2022. Sales peaked in September when deliveries topped 50,000 units, averaging around 45,000 units per month from May to August.

According to the public data, GAC AION is also on track to cross the one-million-vehicle production and sales milestone. The brand has racked up nearly 950,000 unit sales since beginning production in April 2019 across less than five years.

Currently, GAC AION has two sub-brands: AION and Hyper. The latter officially put the Hyper HT mid-to-large all-electric SUV onto the market on November 15, starting at 213,900 yuan.

In the realm of power batteries, GAC AION's subsidiary, Yinpai Battery Technology Co., Ltd., is set to begin production on its independent battery production line in December this year. The first product from Yinpai Battery employs GAC's proprietary lithium iron phosphate technology, initially catering to AION and other GAC Group's enterprises before expanding into the broader market. The commencement of the power battery production line is expected to further boost GAC AION's delivery volume.

Additionally, at the Auto Guangzhou 2023 on November 17, GAC Group announced its ambitious plan to have its vehicles equipped with solid-state batteries by 2026, with the Hyper's models taking the lead.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
