On November 21st, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced the start of construction on the United Arab Emirates' largest aluminium recycling plant, named RevivAL. The plant will be located adjacent to EGA's existing smelter in Al Taweelah and will have an annual capacity of 170,000 tonnes. The construction is expected to be completed within 3 years. Currently, a majority of the UAE's scrap aluminium is exported for processing abroad, but once the recycling plant is operational, EGA expects to become the largest consumer of scrap aluminium in the UAE.
