Recently, the "Implementation Plan for Carbon Peak in the Industrial Field of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region" was released, which mentioned that by 2025, the carbon emission intensity of steel per ton should not be higher than 1.8 tons of carbon dioxide/ton of crude steel (long process) and 0.5 tons of carbon dioxide/ton of crude steel (short process), and the proportion of short process steelmaking should be more than 12%. By 2030, breakthroughs in the application of technologies such as hydrogen-rich carbon cycle blast furnace smelting, hydrogen-based vertical furnace direct reduction of iron, carbon capture and utilization and sequestration should be achieved, and the proportion of short process steelmaking should be more than 20%.
