Global mining and metals group Glencore has stated that its own zinc production was 672,100 tonnes, down 4% compared to the same period in 2022, mainly reflecting the disposal of its 2022 South American zinc business and the closure of Matagami, offset by strong production from Kazzinc (Zhairem) and Antamina. Chief Executive Officer Gary Nagle said that the production performance of Glencore's core business in the first nine months of this year was robust, and the performance of its main copper, coal and zinc assets was in line with expectations and previous guidance.
