Recently, the Office of the People's Government of Hubei Province issued a notice on the implementation plan (2023-2025) for the transformation and upgrading of the metallurgical industry in Hubei Province. The notice mentioned that the merger and reorganization of steel enterprises within the province should be promoted. Support was given to leading enterprises such as Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Hubei Chengcheng Steel and Hubei Jinshenglan, etc., to use their advantages in technology, capital, brand, etc., to legally and regulatively carry out cross-regional, cross-ownership and cross-industrial chain mergers and reorganizations of long-product enterprises within the province. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the top four steel enterprises in the province will account for more than 80% of the total capacity.
