The Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently issued four methodologies for voluntary greenhouse gas reduction projects, including afforestation carbon sequestration, grid-connected solar thermal power generation, grid-connected offshore wind power generation, and mangrove forest restoration. The Methodology for Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reduction Projects is the main basis for guiding the design, implementation, approval and reduction accounting and verification of greenhouse gas reduction projects in specific fields. According to the Regulations on the Management of Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reduction Trading (Trial), all social entities should develop greenhouse gas reduction projects voluntarily and independently according to the methodologies issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the reduction effect of the projects can be sold in the market and obtain corresponding reduction contribution benefits after accounting and verification according to the methodologies. India’s Industrial Growth Slows to 6.7% in July, but Steel Demand Remains Supported

India’s industrial activity continued to grow in July 2026, with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rising 6.7% YoY, compared with 8.8% in June. Although growth slowed, July recorded the second-highest IIP growth since December 2025, showing that industrial activity remained relatively strong. For the domestic steel market, manufacturing, capital goods and infrastructure remain important areas to watch as they are key drivers of steel demand.
